Tom was very pleased to welcome Suella Braverman to Ipswich on Tuesday.
She visited Queen's Way shopping parade where she met local businesses, visited the Salvation Army and met with some of our activists. Following this we spent a few hours knocking on doors across the Broke Hall estate.
Suella was very well received. It meant a lot that she travelled so far to come and support me. Suella was very courageous during her time as Home Secretary and so often wasn't afraid to say what needed to be said. During my time as the Ipswich MP we very much saw eye to eye on immigration and crime and her support was vital in ensuring the Novotel was one of the first hotels in the country to be relieved from being used as an asylum hotel and returned to its proper use.
Like Suella, I believe that to comprehensively deal with illegal migration and the small boats we need to leave the European Convention of Human Rights. Conservative candidates like me and Suella need your support. We both understand why many voters are tempted by Reform but when you have candidates like me and Suella who have taken we stances we have, please support us. I was pleased on the doorstep many of the voters we spoke to were influenced by this thinking and will be lending me their vote at the forthcoming election.
