Your Bixley Councillors would like to take this opportunity to thank you for electing us to serve you on both the Ipswich Borough Council and the Suffolk County Council.
We are committed to listening to and working hard for all the people in our ward. If you have any issues you would like to raise, we are here to help.
During the election campaign we spoke to many residents. It became clear that the following issues were important.
· Reducing the burden of Council Tax
· Frustration over Hospital Parking
· The loss of the Broke Hall Polling Station
· The need to improve the shopping experience in the Town Centre
· The council consulting with local people and paying attention to their views
On the Ipswich Borough Council we will press the Labour controlled Council to pursue policies that will not put a burden on Bixley Council Tax payers. We will press for sound financial management in the belief that the money you pay should be spent wisely – particularly at a time hard pressed families are battling to make ends meet. We will press the Council to develop new approaches which will provide high quality services and good value for money.
On Suffolk County Council I will support the policies that continue to strive for excellence in Suffolk education, to maintain front-line Police and Fire services, to support the development of Health and Social Care for Bixley residents and to support Ipswich businesses by promoting growth, employment and transport. Ipswich as our county town needs strong representation in Suffolk and I will work hard with your ward and borough-wide councillors to achieve this.
Finally, we would again like to thank you for the trust you have put in us. We will work hard, work honestly and respect our Bixley electors at all times.
