In another project overrun, reopening the Wolsey Gallery at Christchurch Mansion has been delayed.
According to Bryony Rudkin, Labour's culture portfolio holder, this is due to the fact that 'asbestos was discovered'.
Surprise, surprise... it is commonplace for asbestos to have been used in construction at the time the extension was built, so this should have been identified prior to the works specification being drafted so that the tender process was accurate.
But, of course, as we have seen at Crown Pools, ensuring that the council tax payer doesn't get landed with additional costs by having an efficient procurement process isn't a priority for Labour at Grafton House.
