Suffolk Conservatives have outlined their plans for children’s services in Suffolk with a commitment to increase the percentage of Good or Outstanding Ofsted-rated schools to 100%.
We will work closely with parents, teachers, school leaders and communities to raise educational standards further and equip young people with the skills they need for the jobs of the future.
In Suffolk we have already significantly raised standards of education across the county, from a low point only 3 years ago, to now having nearly 90% of our schools where we want them to be.
Suffolk is now ranked in the top half of all authorities for progress at GCSE. We will work closely with parents, teachers and school leaders to raise standards further. We will equip our young people to get highly skilled jobs. We supported the University of Suffolk's bid for independent status. We will extend across the county our innovative MyGo youth employment centres which have already helped thousands of young people into work.
We are dedicated to safeguarding and protecting vulnerable children and young people. We have invested heavily to develop one of the best children's services teams in the country. Suffolk County Council has won national recognition for its work with children in care or at-risk.
The best thing we can do for the next generation, regardless of their background, is good education. Regardless of where you start or want to go in life, an education in a good school is the best foundation to build on.
To continue this progress, vote Conservative on Thursday 4th May.
