Ipswich recently announced its ambition to be the 'greenest town in Suffolk'.
So why has it chosen to remove landscaping from so many of its own housing estates? The excuse is 'it traps litter', yet a tour by Conservative councillors over the last weekend could find no litter anywhere on the sites which have been identified for action.
So, the actual reason must be to save £18000 on maintaining these areas... how petty can you get? Destroying the quality of life for the council's own tenants, when it demands the highest standards of landscaping on all new (private) developments. Hyprocricy? I'd say so. Ipswich council tenants are being made second class citizens - by a Labour controlled council.
