Conservatives understand that people who work hard for your living should be able to keep more of your own money.
We have increased the tax-free allowance to £10,000 from this month, and it will increase to £10,500 next year. This means workers will have £800 in their pocket so spend as they wish rather than central government. As a result 25.4 million people enjoy this tax cut. Three million people no longer have to pay income tax at all.
Petrol duty has been frozen since 2011, saving the average driver £360 per year.
Conservative Suffolk County Council has frozen council tax from 2010 to 2018, allowing you to keep typically £300 extra per year of your own money.
Conservative Police & Crime Commissioner Tim Passmore has frozen the police element of our council tax for the 2nd year, saving you even more.
People now retiring will have more choice what you do with your pension funds.
ISA’s have been re-designed to give you more flexibility in savings options.
Conservatives are cutting national insurance so over a million businesses can pay up to £2,000 less, including 400,000 small businesses that will pay none at all. That means businesses will have extra money to create jobs – so more hardworking people will get the financial security a pay packet brings.
Corporation tax has been cut to the lowest rate in the G7.
At the same time, our welfare changes are getting people off welfare and back into work.
It is Conservatives who are securing the long-term economic security and prosperity of the United Kingdom & allowing you to keep more of your own earnings.
Contrast all of this to Labour’s answer– they want to increase borrowing, spending and more taxes – for which hardworking people & your children would pay for decades into the future. Mr Miliband & Mr Balls do not understand that tax is OUR money, they think it comes from some endless magical money tree in the sky.
Labour said it was a fantasy that the private sector would create enough jobs to lead the recovery– but there are now 1.6 million more private sector jobs than there were before 2010. That’s helping more hardworking families feel financially secure.
They keep talking about the “cost of living crisis”. If people are having difficulty with bills, Ipswich Labour adds to your woes -by increasing council tax by almost 2% last year and again this year. They would probably want to increase it more (as they have with council house rents by 5.6%), but are prevented because they would have to hold a local referendum – a rule which the national government put in place to keep in check over-zealous councils. The Labour leader of Ipswich Council knows he would probably lose that referendum.
The UK economy is forecast to grow more this year than other G7 countries, including the USA.
Don’t allow Labour to wreck the economy again – vote Conservative on 22 May – to bring back strong financial control and economic competence to Ipswich and in recognition that it is only our Party that is helping to build our country’s long term security.
